Finnish University Overalls

One of the more unique traditions of Northern European University culture are the overalls! At first, overalls were used by Technical students in University events like parties, but it has slowly spread to all over most programs in Finland. It is one of the core parts of Finnish student culture. You wear your overalls to most parties as the outfit, meaning you won't have to ever worry about what you should wear to a party. They also are colored based on what program you are studying in, which can promote team spirit and competition.

Generally, Technical students can wear their overalls completely zipped up, while students studying programs like business usually have to keep their overalls at waist height.

Also to keep in mind, while it is reccomended that you try to add patches to your overalls as memories of your studies in Finland, do not cover the sponsor spots for overalls! These sponsors help your program and guild.

Student overalls are usually about 50 Euros, and are most definitely worth it to have the full Finnish student experience! Have fun!
